All this month we have been in a message series titled, "Biggest Bible Buts". Please be sure to jump in the conversation by leaving comments on each post! It is called the Disease to Please. I also carried the genetic markers ApoE and KIF6 putting me at a greater risk for heart disease and the latter being an inherited gene placing me at a higher risk for a heart attack. Last week I wrote a post about the collective experience of menopause - the one outside our own sweaty bodies and muddled minds. The cardiologist said with these results, “you could expect to have a heart event within 5 years”. Now, I've been carrying this book around for months, kind of afraid to open it up and realize that I had a problem haha. Our goal is to provide you with the tools to help you become and stay plant-strong. I mean how does helping people get to the point of being detrimental? There's a book called The Disease to Please by Harriet Braiker, PhD. In the book she says that people pleasers are addicts. Trying to please people is a disease, or a sickness.
